AC4YOU.com Nightlife Guide

Angeles City - Is often called the Entertainment Capital of the Philippines, an exaggeration? No! The Nightlife has flourished over the years. Why? Lots of reasons.

Maybe it's the relaxed environment. You won't find a more 'laid back' atmosphere anywhere else in Asia. Then there's the proximity. There are 100+ nightlife establishments in Angeles City and nearly all are within walking distance of each other.

Or is it the natural friendless of Filipinos and outgoing personalities of the people in Pampanga (the province where Angeles City is located)? What impresses many foreigners when they first arrive in the Philippines is how open and friendly Filipinos are to visitors. It is this naturally open nature and friendly attitudes that make people want to return again and again. And what's even better? The Philippines has the world's third largest English speaking population so getting around, shopping and making friends is a snap.

So, what is there to do after dark in Angeles City?

Actually there is something for every taste and mood. Activities range from the International Standard Night Clubs to Japanese and Chinese Style Karaoke Bars, excellent Live Music Clubs and several excellent Discothèques. We have collected a short list from the nightlife scene. Have a look around but be prepared to extend your 21-day Tourist Visa as there might be not enough time to check them out all.

Go-Go Bars

Go-Go Bars combine the usual atmosphere of great drinking bars with entertainers who dance on stage. The local DJs play a wide variety of music and each bar has it's own personality. On any given night you'll here some of the best rock and roll to Frank Sinatra.

The best and most Go-Go bars are located in the Balibago district along Fields Avenue starting near the Main Gate to the CSEZ all the way down to Mac Arthur Highway. You'll find more than 45 bars within a few steps.

A short distance up Fields Avenue (Perimeter Rd) a new night life area has sprung up. Here you'll find 3 or 4 cozy places with a little less glitz and atmosphere but a totally different 'flavor' than the traditional Fields Avenue bars. There are literally hundreds of clubs located all over Angeles City.

Outside of the Fields Avenue area, the clubs cater mostly to Filipinos. You'll be welcome in most, but it is best to go with someone who knows his/her way around. World Class Entertainment Standards are usual for the norm in the new bars along Fields Avenue.

Karaoke / KTV

Like to sing but can't? Try one of the local Karaoke (K-TV) clubs. They abound all over Angeles City and range from classy well decorated first class clubs to roadside stalls. Filipinos love to sing and karaoke is the perfect way to enjoy a drink with friends and step into the shoes of Billy Joel or Barbra Streisand?

Restaurants and Drinking Bars

You like it a little bit more quite and relaxed than the high energy Bars and Karaokes? Than have a look at the traditional Cocktail Lounge scene in Angeles City. Again, variety abounds. You'll find a lot of locals hanging around the "Open Air" Bars where beer and local spirits cost a mere P30 - 35. If you like air conditioning and music there are the well established and conventional pubs and watering holes. You'll find them all over town,  but the major concentration will be found in the  Entertainment district of Balibago.

And than there are the 24 hours Restaurants and Drinking Venues, who combine the effort of providing a drinking spot with food services which reach from simple Filipino Dishes to highly sophisticated Buffalo Style Sub-Sandwiches and much more in air-conditioned and non-airconditioned environments.

Discos / Live Music Venues

Filipinos love to dance and to mingle in huge crowds. That's is one of the reasons Discothèques are so popular and attract always a large crowd of locals and tourists alike. The local Disco scene is dominated by two discos Skytrax and Pick Up Disco. These very popular dancing places are mostly filled up with young Filipinos ready to dance and to party with anyone that wants to join in, however Pick Up Disco has developed over the last year into a mingling place for Filipinos and Foreigners alike.

Some of the best singers and bands in Asia come from the Philippines so it should be no surprise that live music nightclubs are very popular and wide spread. The Philippines exports some of the best talent in the world. You'll find Filipino bands and singers in virtually EVERY 5 star hotel in Asia. There seems to be an almost unlimited talent pool. Live music clubs with new groups every couple of weeks are opening up allover Angeles City, like most of the good nightlife, you'll find the main concentration is in Balibago.
